(Billy) Abbate
Executive Director Quality
Physician Services (Administrative Office)
Billy
sets the strategic direction and business development for
Quality Physician Services. With 15-years experience
in healthcare and business, Billy has developed grass-roots
healthcare practices, hired physicians and staff, acquired
practice locations, and coordinated facility acquisitions, planning
and build-out. He has also helped improve the
quality of patient care and financial position
of medical practices by creating protocols for more efficient
operating procedures and systems that capture revenues
earlier in the billing and collections
process. These protocols allow physicians to concentrate
their efforts on the provision of medical care, while assuring
that their practices are managed in the most efficient
and profitable manner possible.
Billy
studied pre-med and majored in chemistry in college and
worked with a large laboratory company as his entree
into the healthcare arena. He noticed that
many of his practice clients did
not effectively capture revenues in the lab, and could
save both time and money with a few
simple changes. Billy’s recommendations
to clients earned him a reputation as a business-savvy
healthcare professional. Shortly thereafter, he was
hired by a client to manage and grow the practice.
During
his time as a practice manager,
Billy increased practice revenues 10-fold and increased
physician incomes by 5. Billy began replicating the
same formula for other practices and found himself consulting with
physicians and practice managers full-time as Quality Physician
Services.
When
asked about the secret to his success, Billy says, “Our
growth is predicated on talent. If you find the right
people, their talent creates opportunities.” The
consulting and
outsourcing services that QPS provides have developed as
Billy and his team have uncovered needs in healthcare practices,
and as they have partnered with talented professionals.
Billy regards the business of medicine as “fun,” but as a world
renowned competitive shooter, he spends much of his free time participating in
the shooting sports. A former World Champion speed shooter, Billy
competes in “Old West” shooting competitions where he is also known
by his cowboy name, “TG Reaper.” Billy spearheads Western
3 Gun, a nation-wide club of shooting enthusiasts, and has taught civilians,
law enforcement personnel and competitive shooters how to improve their shooting
skills for almost 20 years. |
