Our in-house labs are each equipped to collect samples and conduct drug testing in the office with immediate results. Using the computerized, “hands-off” eScreen system, our system provides secure test results, enabling employers to make same-day hiring decisions. Printed test result reports are sent to employers immediately, via secure e-mail or automatic fax.
(Note: We do NOT use the “instant test cups” or “dip cards” that you may have seen at other facilities. Those rely on human interpretation of color changes and use handwritten reports, which can be subject to human error.)
All test results are reviewed by an MRO (Medical Review Officer), who is dedicated to drug testing. The applicant or employee’s legal prescriptions are always compared against test results by the MRO to separate illegal use from legitimate medical treatment.
Drug test specimen collection and/or testing are performed in accordance with SAMSHA, DOT and ADA procedures and regulations. Our staff is trained and supervised by a certified Drug & Alcohol Program Testing Manager.

School Physicals
It’s no big secret that Georgia has the 6th highest level of adult obesity in the nation at 25.2 percent, the 16th highest overweight levels of high school students at 11.1 percent. Even our elementary school children are rating high in the overweight department. With obesity comes various health conditions that, if detected early, can be prevented entirely. Genetic predispositions for health conditions and an increase in allergies, asthma and other conditions related to the environment continue to rise among school-aged children.
Many states require physical examinations before children start kindergarten, grade school and high school. The Doctor’s Office recommends yearly school physicals for grade school and high school students. Depending on the age and family health history, we will tailor our basic school exam for your child. As a baseline we test, we measure height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and urine. We discuss with both parents and children any symptoms they may have encountered during physical activity, concentration levels, sleep patterns, and any discomfort they may be encountering.
We provide your with a full report of your child’s physical health and any recommendations for improving health or follow up visits. If you would like to schedule a school physical for your child, please contact The Doctor’s Office at a location near you.

Sports Physicals
The Doctor’s Office provides sports physicals for schools, teams and individual athletes. A Pre-Participation Physical Examination (PPE) at the beginning of your sports season is very important to ensure your or your child’s safety while they participate. Many states, schools and teams require a PPE prior to participation. The exam is designed to assess any possible risks to you or your child’s participation in a sport. Regardless of requirements, The Doctor’s Office recommends that athletes undergo a physical examination prior to participating in any sport.
First we take a look at your medical history to consider genetic predispositions, and personal histories of health symptoms during strenuous activities.
Next we perform the physical exam which includes measurements of height, weight, blood pressure and pulse. We will also check your vision, heart, lungs, abdomen, ears, nose and throat. After your basic physical, we finish by evaluating your flexibility, strength and posture, as well as joint function.
During the exam your doctor may also ask you questions about use of drugs, supplements, alcohol, etc, which may affect an athlete’s performance and overall health. You will leave our office with the results of your sports exam, and possible recommendations for changes in diet, exercise/stretching, etc. to improve overall health and athletic performance. If you would like to schedule a sports physical for yourself or your child, please contact The Doctor’s Office at a location near you. [Return to Top]
Annual Physical
As we age, we tend to ignore aches, pains and other physical symptoms that may be a warning sign that something is not going right in our bodies. If you are experiencing discomfort, you should consult your physician. However, yearly examinations may help your physician detect a problem early and recommend treatment options to keep you healthy.
Yearly physical exams vary by age and gender. Women should have a full gynecological exam each year, including pap smear, pelvic and breast exam. Aging women will add a blood lipid profile, EKG, Mammogram and other tests at relevant intervals. In addition to the basics, men will have a testicular exam, and additional tests as they age. Your doctor will make sure you have the appropriate tests for your age, and health history.
The Doctor’s Office provides annual physicals for men and women of all ages to make sure you live a long, healthy, active life. If you would like to schedule an annual physical, please contact The Doctor’s Office at a location near you. [Return to Top]
Camp Physicals
Many summer camps and sports camps require a physical exam before children and adults can attend. The Doctor’s Office recommends a physical exam for children and teens prior to attending camp. Although most camps have a nurse or emergency care provider on staff, your children are out of your care and sight while they are at camp. A camp physical will give you as a parent, peace of mind, knowing that our physicians have conducted a thorough evaluation of your child’s health. A camp physical may also help prevent injuries and will give the camp healthcare staff a good overview of your child’s health.
If you would like to schedule a camp physical for your child, please contact The Doctor’s Office at a location near you. [Return to Top]
FAA Flight Physicals
The Federal Aviation Administration requires that pilots and other required crew members of an aircraft hold a current medical certificate. Certificates and physicals can only be given by certified Aviation Medical Examiners (AMEs). The Doctor’s Office has been commissioned by the FAA to conduct flight physicals and issue certificates in all 3 pilot classifications. The founder of The Doctor’s Office, Dr. Jeff Curtis, is a pilot himself, and understands first hand the training and physical requirements required to operate an aircraft.
Flight physicals cover a wide variety of areas, including vision, ear/nose/throat, equilibrium, mental, neurological, and cardiovascular evaluations. If you would like to schedule a flight physical, please contact The Doctor’s Office at a location near you. [Return to Top]
